History
Bowhead Transport Heritage
Bowhead Transport was named after the great Bowhead whale which has been a cultural cornerstone of the Iñupiat for thousands of years. Like the whale, Bowhead Transport is native to Alaska, distinctive, efficient, and impressively equipped for the Northern seas. We are proud to offer our specialized charter services through all of Alaska including the North Slope, Slope/Arctic, Western Alaska, the Aleutian Islands, Southcentral, and Southeast Alaska. These waters are home to our people and to other Alaskans’ connected by history, experience, and heritage.
We hold strong to our traditional values that are the core of our business principles. These include respect for our customers, a moral obligation to provide service that exceeds expectations, and a commitment to providing service at a fair and reasonable price. Our crew has decades of experience and for every job we undertake, big or small, we spend countless hours planning and preparing in order to guarantee success. Like our parent company, UIC, we are committed to our customers and their goals.

The UIC Connection
Bowhead Transport is a Anchorage-based subsidiary of the Ukpeaġvik Iñupiat Corporation (UIC) – a Northern Alaska Native (8A) adept in marine cargo/equipment transportation, hotel ship/project support, and other specialized charter services. As an Alaskan Native Corporation ourselves, we offer unique, flexible, and streamlined sole source procurement options to our government customers available through all SBA-certified subsidiaries within the UIC family of companies.
